A study plan

  1. Get comfortable in the 2021 Michigan Mechanical Code and fuel gas code: appliance installation, combustion air, venting, and gas pipe sizing tables.
  2. Practice combustion air and gas pipe sizing calculations.
  3. Review duct construction, clearances, and exhaust rules (they’re included).
  4. Know heat pump and refrigerant basics.
  5. Do full 150-question timed mocks. Stamina matters.
